Since When Camera

It was long believed that the first patent for a cinematographic camera had been taken in London, in 1889, by William Friese-Greene.

In fact, it was the second. Because in 1888, also in London, a Frenchman, Louis the Prince, had filed a patent for a camera and projection device that he had actually developed. That same year, Professor Marey, a French physiologist, was already using a device with all the characteristics of a camera to record and analyze men and animals in motion.
